“CEMA did an excellent job in putting on a range of activities and presentations for 100 of our Year 9 pupils. All the presenters were excellent, had a very good rapport with the pupils, and covered a wide range of Great War topics including food and medicine. The reconstructed trench was a real highlight, and more authentic looking in fact, than anything you’ll see in Flanders. Having taken pupils on various History trips for over 30 years, this was right up there amongst the best of them. If you can’t get to France or Belgium and/or want a UK based alternative, then this is very much the best thing.”

Simon Lemieux, Head of History and Politics, The Portsmouth Grammar School

“What a fantastic school trip! We took our two Year 6 classes to the site at Detling as part of our World War topic, and they were able to experience first-hand what life would have been like in the trenches. Andy and his team have built a brilliant recreation which gives children a vivid idea of conditions that the soldiers fought and lived in. The talks that Andy and his team offered were excellent, and the children were engaged and curious throughout. One of our pupils said to us as we were getting on the coach to leave ‘that was the best school trip that I have ever been on!’ Toilets and coach parking are easily accessible, and we couldn’t recommend a visit to Detling highly enough. Thank you very much Andy and team for all of your kindness and hard work, and we hope to return again in the future. Year 6 Class Teachers, Birchwood Grove Primary School, Burgess Hill.”
